The Dimech family has been in the business of aluminium, steel, and stainless steel works for well over thirty years. Joe Dimech, father of Josef (the current owner), started working in his father’s garage in Msida on a part-time basis at a very young age, initially working only with wrought iron. .

What began as a hobby quickly turned out to be regular work, with Blue Bell Wrangler becoming one of his biggest clients.

As business increased and now trading under the names of J’s Dimech and J’s Dimech Aluminium, work became plentiful. Eventually, the Dimech family business started to offer stainless steel and aluminium works. .

Josef entered the business full time at the age of sixteen and very quickly learnt the trade from his father. His passion for the craft, together with his entrepreneurial zest, allowed the company to develop and grow further. .

At the age of twenty-five and with the first generation of the Dimech family ready to handover to the second generation, Josef set up JSDimech COM-IND Ltd in 2004 and moved from Msida to larger premises in Birkirkara. .

In early 2009, the company made its third move to a 5000 m2 state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Hal Far, now offering wrought iron, steel, stainless steel, aluminium apertures, large format glass works and the installation of automatic sliding, hinged & revolving door systems. .

In 2018 the decision was made to undertake a restructuring and re-branding exercise to keep up with the evolution within the sectors in which we operate. JD Operations Ltd. was created to focus solely on the business interests previously carried out by JSDimech Ltd. whilst other Companies were simultaneously established to focus on the other commercial interests of the group.

We achieve this through targeted ongoing training and regular team building activities, currently we employ more than 100 people making us one of the largest Maltese Companies in the industry.
