JD Operations Limited is a market leader in aluminium, steel, wrought iron, large scale glass formats, and stainless steel works, as well the construction of steel structures.
The company premises are situated in a newly refurbished Hangar in Hal Far, covering an area of more than 5,000 sqm.
The production area is equipped with the latest numeric control (CNC) machinery, spray booths, and variety of other state-of-the-art equipment, ensuring final product of the highest standard.
With a fleet of over 20 delivery trucks, and heavy lifting equipment, combined with trained employees, JSDimech strives to provide its clients with the best possible product, and service.
JSDimech is the local representative for BLASI (automatic & revolving doors), Metra & Schueco (aluminium) and Secco Sistemi (steel).
JD Holdings Limited
JD Holdings Limited is the company that holds the entire share capital of JD Capital Limited which, in turn holds the entire share capital of JD Operations Limited, and JD Birkirkara Limited.
At the age of twenty-five, and with the first generation of the Dimech family ready to handover to the second generation, Josef set up JSDimech COM-IND Ltd in 2004, and moved from Msida to larger premises in Birkirkara.
JD Birkirkara Limited
JD Birkirkara Limited is a property holding company with the ownership title of immovable property situated in Birkirkara. The company intends developing this prime site into offices in the near future.
The Dimech family has been in the business of aluminium, steel, and stainless works for well over thirty years. Joe Dimech, father of Josef (the current owner), started working in his father’s garage in Msida on a part-time basis at a very young age, initially working only with wrought iron.
What began as a hobby quickly turned out to be regular work, with Blue Bell Wrangler becoming one of his biggest clients.
As business picked up, and now trading under the names of J’s Dimech and J’s Dimech Aluminium, work became plentiful. Eventually, the Dimech family business started to offer stainless steel, and aluminium works.
Josef entered the business full time at the age of sixteen, and very quickly learnt the trade from his father. His passion for the craft, together with his entrepreneurial zest, allowed the company to develop, and grow further.
At the age of twenty-five, and with the first generation of the Dimech family ready to handover to thesecond generation, Josef set up JSDimech COM-IND Ltd in 2004, and moved from Msida to larger premises in Birkirkara.
In early 2009, the company made its third move to a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Hal Far; now offering wrought iron, steel, stainless steel, aluminium, large format glass works, and the installation of automatic revolving door systems.
The current company, JSDimech, has achieved incredible growth levels, and firmly established itself as a market leader. The customer base has grown incredibly and includes a portfolio of medium to large scale projects.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Mr. Josef Dimech is currently the owner, and managing director of JSDimech Ltd.
He started working in his father’s garage in Msida on a part-time basis at the age of 16. Initially only working with wrought iron, it quickly turned into regular work with established clients.
In 2004, at the age of 25, Josef set up JSDimech COM-IND Ltd. In 2009, the current company JSDimech Ltd, achieved incredible growth levels, and firmly established itself as a market leader.
Dr. Portelli is a partner of the law firm GS Advocates, based in Sliema, Malta, where his area of practice focuses on assisting corporate clients, as well as shipping and employment legislation.
Between 2001 and 2009 he held the position of executive Director for Human Resources, Legal and Corporate Affairs, as well as Company Secretary at Malta Freeport Terminals Ltd, where he was also on the Board of Directors from 1999 to 2004.
From 1994 to 2001, Dr. Portelli was employed with the Financial Services Unit at Coopers & Lybrand, and eventually PriceWaterhouseCoopers. He was a director of Malta Investment Management Co Ltd, and Malta Government Investments Ltd between 2004 and 2008.
In 2007 he was appointed member of the Port Workers Board representing Malta Freeport Terminals, and in 2008 was appointed member of the Board of the Lotteries and Gaming Authority.
He is a member of the Chamber of Advocates, and the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners. Dr. Portelli currently also serves as a non-executive director on a number of companies involved in various cross-border and overseas activities, including fund management.
Mr. Vella started his working career in the tourism sector. He held various positions, including managerial posts, at the Preluna Hotel & Spa from 1978 to 1987.
In 1987, he joined the Union Haddiema Maghqudin. During his tenure, he held various senior posts within the organisation, and was the Union’s Secretary General for thirteen years.
In 2012, Mr. Vella founded People at Work, an independent industrial relations, and human resources development consultancy. He is currently CEO of People at Work Consultancy.
Mr. Vella also served on the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development, the Malta European Union Steering Action Committee, the Occupational Health and Safety Authority, the Social Security Appeals Boards, the Malta Competition and Consumers Affairs Authority, the Employment and Industrial Relations Board, and the Foundation for Human Resources Development.
He also served as industrial relations consultant to the Minister responsible for Health between 2012 and 2013.
